Guy Des Rosiers has broad-based international experience with significant transactional work as well as litigation. While the bulk of Guy’s career is based in New York, he spent many years as a foreign legal consultant at a leading business law firm in South East Asia working on infrastructure and M&A deals, with an emphasis on project finance, oil and gas, transportation and water infrastructure. A native French speaker, Guy also has practiced law in Quebec (Canada) and France. 

In the insurance field, Guy has represented a major Canadian insurer in the formation of an Indonesian bancassurance joint venture with a Malaysian bank. Earlier in his career, he defended a U.S. insurer in nationwide sales practice litigation. 

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Guy spent several years as the Senior Principal Law Clerk at the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department working on a wide variety of appellate matters.

With more than a decade of experience at the Appellate Division, Guy has developed a deep understanding of appellate practice along with a solid grasp of several substantive areas of New York law, including negligence, premises liability, insurance coverage, medical malpractice and the Labor Law. Guy also has experience in environmental law, particularly on the transactional side, as well as in the defense of mass torts and products liability cases. 

Commercial Contracts & Agreements / Commercial Litigation
As a litigator with extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, Guy understands the value of meticulous drafting as well as the pitfalls of a poorly written contract. He also has a thorough understanding of New York contract law, and has taught a seminar on contract drafting at Columbia Law School.
