Ian A. Stewart

Ian A. Stewart (Partner-Los Angeles), managing partner of Wilson Elser’s Los Angeles and Orange County offices, was quoted in the article “Los Angeles Outpaces Top Markets in NLJ 500 Lawyer Growth,” appearing in the June 5, 2025, edition of the National Law Journal. The article notes that the total attorney headcount growth in Los Angeles significantly outpaced that of its peers in 2024, increasing by 6% from the previous year. Wilson Elser added 28 attorneys in Los Angeles in 2024, raising its head count to 88 and reflecting a 40% increase year-over-year. Ian says, “That’s a function of growth, particularly with our Amazon program, but also, we represent Uber, trucking companies, and other kinds of commercial operators.” He explains, “Part of it is just that Los Angeles or Southern California, generally, is a very dense, deeply populated area…It’s just got a lot of litigation, and our national clients tend to see certain hotspots where they have big spikes in volume, and Southern California is always on their list of the top two [or] three areas of demand.”
