Baltimore, Md. (May 6, 2021) – National law firm Wilson Elser announced today that Robert Scott, Of Counsel in the firm’s Baltimore office, is being honored by the Bar Association of Baltimore City for his 50 years as a practicing attorney.

An experienced civil trial attorney in all areas of product liability, drugs and medical devices, environmental/toxic torts, construction and insurance coverage in state and federal courts throughout the United States, Mr. Scott also has served as national counsel in insurance coverage and product liability litigation, and has represented a number of companies in class action litigation.

“Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition of your 50 years’ admission to the bar,” said Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Anthony Vittoria, President-Elect of the Bar Association of Baltimore City, in a letter to Mr. Scott.

The Association annually pays tribute to members who have been admitted to the practice of law for 50 years. Mr. Scott was admitted in 1970. This year’s event will be virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will be held in late May.

“This is a real honor for Bob Scott and the entire Baltimore office of Wilson Elser,” said Baltimore office Regional Managing Partner Angela Russell. “On behalf of Wilson Elser, I offer our sincere congratulations to Bob for this award.”

Baltimore partner Marisa Trasatti has worked with Mr. Scott for much of her career, at Wilson Elser and at his prior firm. “The past 15 years of practicing law would not have been the same without my mentor and law partner, Bob,” she said.

Mr. Scott said he was appreciative of the honor. “I want to thank the Association for giving me this award and I thank Angela, the Baltimore office and the firm for giving me the opportunity to practice law in a great environment.”

Widely recognized for his devotion to the profession, Mr. Scott has been president of several legal organizations, including the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence, Lawyers for Civil Justice, DRI and the Maryland Defense Counsel. He also is the recipient of prestigious legal awards, including the John H. Mudd Lifetime Achievement Award (Maryland Defense Counsel) and the DRI Louis B. Potter Lifetime Professional Service Award.

Mr. Scott received a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1970 and a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1967.
