Jacqueline Bertelsen maintains a robust practice defending clients in matters including product liability, professional liability, trucking and transportation, and complex tort and general casualty cases. She also handles appeals and provides litigation and trial support to ensure the best appellate outcome. As a member of the firm’s Art Law Practice, Jacqueline also is making her presence felt as a formidable litigator and a regular contributor the firm’s popular Art Law Perspectives blog.
Before joining Wilson Elser, Jacqueline worked in the appellate and litigation support division at a large Florida-based insurance defense firm. While in law school, she served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Margaret H. Schreiber, Ninth Judicial Circuit of Florida. In addition, Jacqueline acquired substantial knowledge as a research assistant to renowned Water Law and Environmental Law Professor Robert Abrams for two years as a law student. She also was a Fellow of the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration, Environmental Cooperative Science Center and a Federal Honors Intern at the Environmental Appeals Board of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C.

Jacqueline defends claims against attorneys and other licensed professionals. She has a background in obtaining Bar approvals for advertising and other professional responsibility guidance. She also has experience with Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts (IOLTA).
Product Liability
Jacqueline has defended a wide range of product liability cases, including claims concerning tires, wheels, industrial equipment, food products, medical devices and pharmaceuticals.
Complex Tort & General Casualty
Jacqueline has extensive experience litigating complex and catastrophic claims involving uninsured motorists, automobile and trucking accidents; environmental; property damage; premises liability; and other general liability claims.
Trucking, Transportation & Cargo
Jacqueline has defended trucking companies in lawsuits involving catastrophic personal injury losses or wrongful death cases. She also has experience with regulation compliance.
Art Law
Having studied at the Tulane-Siena Institute for International Law, Cultural Heritage & The Arts in Siena, Italy, Jacqueline is highly familiar with the international structures in place to combat the illegal trade of art and antiquities, and with the frameworks in place to facilitate legitimate transactions. She also can assist with claims involving theft or damage. Her broad range of knowledge and litigation experience allows her to assist with all aspects of claims involving artworks and art professionals.

Jacqueline provides litigation and trial support across Florida. She also devotes a portion of her practice to dispositive motions.
