Jana Slavina Farmer (Partner-White Plains, NY) was quoted in an article titled “GenAI compliance is an oxymoron. Ways to make the best of it,” which appeared in the August 13, 2024, posting of Computerworld. Jana sees a big legal problem in the lack of comprehensive and detailed information enterprises get from the AI vendors from whom they license GenAI software. She says, “Do we want to play with a system when we don’t know where it keeps its brain? … When you look at the emerging regulations, they are basically saying that if you deploy [AI], you are responsible for what it does, even if it disobeys you.”
