Jared Smith focuses his practice on tort and casualty defense, with a specialization in transportation and logistics litigation and a focus on national motor carriers, logistics companies, and transportation marketplace participants. He also counsels clients on litigation readiness and discovery matters across a national litigation practice, providing legal project and process management services to assist his clients’ management of e-Discovery, risk identification, and exposure prevention. Jared has a litigation background in general liability and casualty, business torts, and personal injury defense in premises liability and construction claims.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Jared practiced civil litigation in matters including transportation law and personal injury, premises and products liability, insurance bad faith coverage and subrogation claims, and toxic tort claims. He also served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Jennifer Harlacher Sibum of the Court of Common Pleas for Monroe County, Pennsylvania.
