Jon Hlavinka has practiced law for more than 30 years. He is an accomplished trial and appellate lawyer particularly in the fields of nursing home liability and insurance coverage. Jon spent several years working on an insurance coverage construction defect docket that ultimately had a multibillion-dollar effect on the Texas construction industry. Today, Jon is a dedicated defender of nursing homes against an onslaught of liability cases brought, many unfairly he believes, in troubled times.
Jon has broad experience in state and federal court litigation and appeals, insurance coverage issues and contractual matters. His experience includes trial and appellate work related to multimillion-dollar insurance coverage dockets and involvement in many other substantial matters. He has issued numerous insurance coverage opinions and has extensive knowledge of various types of insurance policies and has been involved with national trial and insurance coverage teams and in the formulation of national insurance coverage strategies.
Jon, the devoted parent along with his wife of three Eagle Scout sons, served on the board of directors of the West University Little League and as an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 55, both among the largest such organizations in the world.
