In the article, they discuss a bill on New York Governor Kathy Hochul's desk that would ban companies from requiring employees to sign noncompete agreements. This bill, if enacted, will have a significant impact on employer and contractor agreements statewide and should provide an impetus for employers to revisit and review their employment agreements to ensure, if they use restrictive covenants and noncompetes, that they are carefully crafted and tailored to fit their needs and appropriate for the particular employee.
