Kathleen Wilkinson (Partner-Philadelphia, PA), President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, was invited by Mike Freed, President of the National Conference of Bar Presidents and Past President of the Jacksonville Bar Association, to instruct a program with him on “Practical Lawyering for the 21st Century-Planning for a Thriving Career” on August 18, 2021, during a webinar for law students on the value of bar service. Kathleen stressed the importance of writing articles and being part of CLE programs within the bar association for young attorneys to build leadership skills within the legal community and their own firms. Kathleen also discussed how networking with attorneys in their practice area can help young attorneys build relationships, leading to business opportunities. Finally, she noted the benefits of joining committees and sections, such as diversity committees, which can lead to mentoring opportunities and business development.
