Kelly A. Van Nort

Kelly Van Nort represents clients in complex civil litigation, commercial and general liability litigation, derivative actions, anticompetitive business practice claims, employment matters, product liability claims and professional liability disputes (lawyers, brokers, agents and health care professionals). Kelly’s product liability experience includes successfully defending manufacturers, distributors and retailers in federal multi-district litigation and regional tort litigation.

Kelly also has extensive experience representing private and public-sector employers of all sizes (including large national and multi-national corporations) as well as their managers and employees in lawsuits for discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage-and-hour issues, unfair competition, defamation, whistleblower claims, and various other tort claims. Kelly has successfully defended claims made under various statutes, including the California Fair Employment and Housing Act, Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VII.

Kelly investigates and assesses risks, and provides advice and counsel to clients on claims handling, business practices and documentation.  She is a skilled negotiator, which enables her to assist clients in obtaining favorable resolution of disputes.  Kelly has a strong track record of resolving complex matters effectively and efficiently.
