Maria Perri-Quinn is an accomplished attorney who has extensive civil experience that includes handling diversified areas of the law involving transportation, life and disability, employee benefits, products and premises liability, bad faith, bankruptcy, liquor liability, governmental entities and maritime/admiralty. Maria began her career as an assistant district attorney, giving her insight into the responsibilities of law enforcement and points to consider in evaluating evidence.

Areas of Focus

Trucking, Transportation, Auto & Cargo
Maria defends tractor-trailer trucking companies in lawsuits involving catastrophic and personal injury and cargo losses. She tactfully handles catastrophic cases, balancing zealous defense with appropriate empathy in these emotionally charged litigation matters. Additionally, Maria is a member of the firm’s emergency response team, providing 24-hour, on-site client assistance in defending drivers and the company and mobilizing experts, investigators and media control immediately after catastrophic events.

Life, Health & Disability (ERISA / NON-ERISA)
Maria represents individual and group life and disability insurers in ERISA and non-ERISA matters. In the non-ERISA matters, she vigorously defends against allegations of bad faith and punitive damages at the early stages of litigation in addition to defending clients against allegations of breach of contract, fraud, statutory violations, material misrepresentations, breach of fiduciary duty and coverage issues.

Maria’s practice includes defending named insurers in state and federal courts throughout the United States. She also has successfully pursued rescissions, including stranger-owned life insurance, obtaining damages and reimbursement of fees and costs for insurers.

Her many years of experience in this area allow her to examine each case efficiently and advise clients of the legal implications and ramifications under specific sets of facts, providing insight into the best and most cost-effective course of action, whether an amicable resolution, dispositive motion or trial.

Product Liability
Maria represents international and domestic clients in product liability matters involving, among other things, claims for negligence, strict liability, failure to warn and breach of warranty in design, manufacturing and marketing defects in multistate litigation. Maria also has defended manufacturers of pharmaceutical products, aviation and industrial equipment in state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Premises Liability (Property/Casualty)
Maria represents a wide array of businesses, property owners, retailers and maintenance companies in premises liability matters. Her defense of these cases is based on an understanding that a thorough investigation is paramount to defending against liability and damages.

Bankruptcy (Admiralty/Maritime)
Maria regularly represents financial institutions in consumer bankruptcy matters and has experience representing U.S. trustees in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 matters for business creditors. In addition, she has handled admiralty and maritime litigation cases, including marine financing and vessel foreclosures. Notably, Maria’s experience includes representing carriers in cargo damage/loss claims and stowaway cases.
