Best’s Insurance News & Analysis Consults Ross on Insurance Implications of Olympics Cancellation or Postponement

Mathew Ross (Partner-White Plains) was interviewed for “Industry Attorney: Summer Olympics Postponement Losses Likely Significant but Cancellation Would Be Devastating,” an article in the March 23, 2020, edition of Best’s Insurance News & Analysis. A veteran International Olympics Committee member said the games will likely be moved to 2021. “It’s not just the Olympics and the thousands of people involved in preparations,” said Mat. “It’s also the chain of other businesses and industries that would be impacted by an outright cancellation versus a postponement, and many of those businesses could have event-cancellation coverage for events taking place in conjunction with the Olympics.” Ross added, “Fear won’t trigger any policy; the fact that you and I are not going, but could, isn’t enough.”
