Matthew Bruno represents clients in complex litigation stemming from liability-related claims and catastrophic injuries. His extensive experience is complemented by his close relationships with many of the most sought-after ADR providers in New York. Matt collaborates with his clients from the initial investigation through resolution for the best possible results. He is particularly aware of risk transfer through indemnification and insurance provisions that facilitate risk and exposure shifting to secondary entities.

Matt has defended rental, trucking, major construction companies, and property owners with complex litigation and works to mitigate risk and achieve client business objectives while navigating the intensive litigation landscape in New York state and federal courts.

Areas of Focus

Labor Law
As prior counsel for one of the largest public agencies that manages and operates a variety of transportation and port facilities across the New York metropolitan area, Matt has achieved superior results in defending against New York State Labor Law §§200, 240(1), and 241(6) claims. This insight, combined with his years of experience litigating construction claims, enables him to advocate on behalf of property owners and contractors in this often high-exposure area of litigation.

Premises
Matt has represented some of the largest property owners in the state, and he has secured favorable outcomes for them in a variety of liability-related litigations. When a claim arises, Matt seeks to tender the defense and indemnification to our clients’ contractual partners, where appropriate, and assists clients in tendering the defense of claims under certificates of insurance.

Transportation
Matt has represented major rental and trucking companies in defeating complex transportation-related liability claims in both state and federal court.
