Michael Glidden practices in the area of defense litigation and premises liability, and has an in-depth understanding of the New York Labor Law. Michael has enjoyed more than a decade of successful litigation experience, which includes jury trials, motion practice and appellate court practice.
Michael handles every type of general casualty claim, including slip/trip and fall accidents, snow and ice claims, motor vehicle and trucking litigation, premises liability, property damage/subrogation, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims.
In the event of a premises liability claim, Michael seeks to tender the defense and indemnification to the clients’ contractual partners where appropriate, and assists clients in tendering the defense of claims under certificates of insurance. When early resolutions are not possible, Michael prepares to defend actions at trial where Wilson Elser enjoys a remarkable record of prevailing on our clients’ behalf.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Michael was the managing partner of the East Coast operations of a firm specializing in workers' compensation and general litigation for California, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania., and chief trial lawyer for the civil litigation section.
Following law school, Michael worked for a large defense firm handling general liability claims and insurance defense matters before opening his own firm in 2008. Prior to attending law school, Michael retired from law enforcement in 1997 as the Sergeant in charge of a Special Investigation Unit. Prior to that role, Michael worked as an undercover narcotics agent.
