Mike Smith has more than 25 years of experience handling complex civil litigation, primarily representing insurance carriers and their insureds. Having served as first chair on more than 30 trials, he has extensive experience litigating and resolving matters involving automobile liability, premises liability, wrongful death, and construction.
Before joining Wilson Elser, Mike had his own firm, where he represented insureds in a range of civil matters through their insurers. He also frequently provided guidance to insurers on extra-contractual liability, claims handling, and bad faith matters.
Mike takes pride in providing quick, cost-effective resolutions for his clients through mediations, arbitrations, trial, or by picking up the phone and negotiating with opposing counsel.
