Michael Meehan joined Wilson Elser from his role as senior vice president and deputy general counsel of Allied Universal Services (AUS), a business services company that provides security services, security systems, janitorial services and/or staffing services to more than half of the Fortune 500 companies in the United States, its territories and Canada. Michael serves as national coordinating counsel for AUS, overseeing its general liability and workers’ compensation litigation, crisis response and corporate and incident investigations nationwide.

Drawing on his extensive litigation and in-house experience, Michael helps clients identify exposures and mitigate them through contractual risk transfer and tailored insurance programs. He has broad experience defending and prosecuting claims for contractual indemnification and “additional insurance” coverage. When claims or litigation ensue, Michael deploys smart and efficient litigation strategies and develops innovative solutions to resolve claims before substantial costs are incurred. National organizations look to work with integrated teams, and Michael taps the collective experience and resources of the entire firm to achieve desired legal outcomes.

Michael’s business experience includes a term with one of the then Big Eight accounting firms, where he focused on the insurance and retail industries. Upon entering the legal profession, he joined a civil litigation and trial practice with a Philadelphia firm renowned in the Mid-Atlantic legal community, where he became a partner. In 2006, Michael joined AlliedBarton (a predecessor to Allied Universal), where he expanded his skill set in the areas of insurance, risk management and licensing/regulatory matters.
