Michelle Bedoya’s practice and professional experience focus on civil litigation and regulatory matters, including health care litigation, insurance defense, and professional liability. She has represented clients in matters involving personal injury, premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, automobile and trucking liability, negligent security, contract and indemnification disputes, and professional liability.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Michelle practiced at a national, minority- and women-owned law firm serving public and private clients. Before that, she worked as a compliance analyst and attorney within a Fortune 500 multiline health care enterprise. She also practiced at a law firm focused on health litigation, administrative law, and the representation of health professionals and licensed health care facilities across regulatory, enforcement, and appellate matters.
In addition to her J.D., Michelle holds an LL.M. in health law and policy from The George Washington University Law School, where she received highest honors. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in health and public policy at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, undergoing advanced training focused on regulatory systems, health care delivery, and the intersection of law, insurance, and public health.
Health Care
Michelle has defended health care providers and entities in regulatory and compliance matters, including health care fraud investigations and enforcement actions. Her experience includes representing licensed professionals and health care facilities in matters involving licensure, disciplinary proceedings, administrative hearings, and Medicare and Medicaid compliance. She has also served as a presenter for AdventHealth University and Professional Boundaries, providing instruction to health care professionals and students on medical ethics, professional responsibility, and licensure issues.
