Monika Bashyam has built her career defending insurers in matters including general tort liability, premises liability, and auto liability. Her practice focuses on defending personal injury claims across all stages of litigation and pre-suit investigation.
Before joining Wilson Elser, Monika defended marine terminal operators and shipowners in high-stakes personal injury and toxic tort claims. She possesses specialized experience handling asbestos and benzene exposure cases, including wrongful death litigation. Her work includes drafting complex dispositive motions, managing extensive written and expert discovery, preparing mediation briefs, and assisting clients through settlement and release.
In addition to her U.S. practice, Monika is admitted to practice in India through the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
