The recognition highlights the law firms that corporate counsel least want to face on the opposing side of a dispute. In high-stakes litigation, the experience, reputation, and strategic capabilities of opposing counsel can influence how parties assess litigation risks, costs, and potential outcomes ‒ even before a case gets underway.

BTI Consulting Group conducts independent research examining how clients acquire, manage, and evaluate professional services providers. For this recognition, BTI surveyed corporate counsel to identify the law firms they consider the most formidable litigation opponents. A total of 92 firms were named to the 2027 list.
