Dean Rocco (Partner-Los Angeles, CA) will explore “Weed at Work – Can Employers Control Employee Use of Cannabis Inside or Outside Work?” in a March 30, 2023, webinar essential for business owners and executives responsible for setting or enforcing policies that might impact employees’ right to use cannabis. In 1996, California was the first state to legalize medical cannabis, and in 2012, Washington and Colorado became the first states to legalize cannabis for recreational use. There has been a growing tension between employees wishing to use cannabis lawfully under state laws and employers wishing to maintain “Drug Free Workplaces.” In this program, Dean will review the state of legalization within the United States and explore the ways employers are increasingly restricted from controlling cannabis use among workers.
