Richard Ng has extensive experience defending private physicians, hospitals and nursing homes in medical malpractice actions involving significant injuries and exposure. He has defended client matters from inception through trial in high-exposure cases relating to brain injury, cancer, amputations and wrongful death. Richard also has significant experience defending hospitals and business clients in general and premises liability claims. In addition to the litigation and risk management services he provides to his clients, and in keeping with Wilson Elser's full-service approach to zealous representation of clients, Richard has successfully defended and taken verdicts in premises liability matters.

Richard’s first priority is to defend his clients’ interests. After identifying the key issues in a case, he outlines the strongest arguments that can be advanced from the defense and the plaintiff perspectives. To best defend his client and develop an effective strategy, Richard anticipates and understands the claims as well as the areas of potential liability and damages that will be argued by the plaintiff.

Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Richard was an assistant district attorney in Queens County for more than five years. As a prosecutor, he tried to verdict approximately 20 felony cases and 10 misdemeanor cases.

Richard is community-minded and has volunteered as a youth coordinator and counselor for New York City’s Chinatown Head Start Program for first- and second-grade children.
