Robert “Doc” Hoyland has more than 30 years of experience handling civil litigation in state and federal courts at all levels. Doc has managed litigation throughout the country and has tried cases to favorable resolutions as lead counsel in multiple jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations. He has drafted and argued dispositive motions, conducted and defended depositions, negotiated settlements, and handled all aspects of the litigation process through discovery, trial, and appeal. Doc also has served as a judge and a trial advocacy instructor.

Doc has handled appeals at all levels, including oral arguments to the Georgia Supreme Court and drafting briefs to several United States Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of the United States. His practice focuses on commercial litigation and defending insureds and companies in a wide range of matters, including trucking and transportation, premises liability, auto, product liability, and toxic tort.

Earlier in his career, Doc managed FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) litigation for a multinational consumer credit reporting agency, package litigation for a multinational package delivery company, and toxic tort litigation for multinational oil and chemical companies.
