Sangeetha Krishnakumar is experienced in defending individuals, businesses and corporations in civil actions involving personal injury, premises liability, insurance coverage questions and contract disputes. She also has represented clients in misdemeanor criminal cases, juvenile and family court matters, business immigration cases, U-Visa/VAWA matters, asylum defense cases and Special Immigrant Juvenile matters.
Sangeetha has served as lead counsel in jury trials and bench trials in multiple courts across Georgia. She has drafted and argued numerous dispositive motions, conducted and defended depositions, and negotiated successful settlements for her clients. Her practice focuses on defending insureds in a wide variety of matters including trucking and transportation, premises liability and general auto claims. Although she loves being in the courtroom, Sangeetha also excels at finding cost-effective approaches to litigation, including motions practice, quick settlements and successful tenders. She prides herself on breaking down the litigation process for her clients, setting proper expectations and providing clear communication throughout.
Prior to joining Wilson Elser, Sangeetha practiced at highly respected civil defense firms and gained significant experience in and out of the courtroom. Previously, she served as Staff Attorney to the Hon. W. O’Neal Dettmering Jr. and to the Hon. James Edward Barker in Douglas County, Georgia, managing both civil and criminal calendars for the court.
