His areas of practice include insurance defense, premises liability, automobile and general negligence, products liability, asbestos, nursing home and commercial litigation.

Scott's clients rely on him to see cases through from inception to their ultimate conclusion – from answering the complaint, to trying the case and handling any appeal. He has drafted numerous appellate briefs and argued before the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court.

Areas of Focus

Tort & Insurance Defense
Scott has defended companies in the utility, hotel, restaurant, health care, rural lifestyle retail, airline, commercial painting and sporting goods industries, among others, in various types of lawsuits, including personal injury, wrongful death, breach of contract and intentional tort.

Product Liability
Scott's experience in the product liability arena includes the representation for more than 20 years of an automobile part manufacturer in asbestos claims throughout Kentucky and a rural lifestyle retailer in propane tank explosion cases in Kentucky and Indiana.

Nursing Home Litigation
Scott represents owners and operators of for-profit long-term care and assisted-living facilities in lawsuits alleging medical negligence, neglect, administrative negligence, inadequate staffing, statutory violations of residents' rights and wrongful death.

Corporate Litigation
Scott's business litigation practice includes owner/partnership disputes involving issues such as noncompete agreements, fiduciary duty and operating agreement breaches, misappropriation and fraud.
