Stephanie Reda acts as claims, coverage, and monitoring counsel for U.S., London, and Bermuda insurance carriers. She evaluates and investigates professional and management liability claims, provides opinions on coverage, and retains and manages counsel for insureds. Stephanie provides risk management services to various professional insureds. Additionally, she works closely with insurer clients to draft, review, and modify policy wording.

During her initial tenure at Wilson Elser, Stephanie represented insurers in connection with a variety of specialty risk insurance policies. Subsequently, she served as a professional liability claims manager for a domestic insurance carrier for a number of years. Stephanie has a unique perspective given her practice and insurance experience, enabling her to focus on the mitigation of exposure for insurers and their insureds.

Stephanie serves as a regional representative on the firm’s Women Attorneys Valued & Empowered (WAVE) Committee.

Insurance Coverage, Professional Liability
Stephanie’s abilities range across various professional liability lines of coverage, including lawyers professional liability, insurance agents and brokers liability, miscellaneous professional liability and employment practices liability. She often is engaged to evaluate, negotiate and resolve coverage issues on behalf of insurers. 

Directors & Officers Liability
In the area of D&O liability, Stephanie effectively navigates the numerous complex issues surrounding D&O claims and policy coverage disputes. She regularly represents D&O insurers as coverage and monitoring counsel in complex shareholder class actions against public companies and their directors and officers for violations of federal securities laws, and in shareholder derivative actions.

Insurance Coverage, Specialty Risk
Stephanie serves as coverage counsel to specialty risk insurers in connection with claims under policies for malicious product tampering and accidental product contamination, kidnap and ransom, event cancellation, and high-limit disability for professional athletes and wealthy individuals. In this regard, she is tasked routinely with preparing written coverage opinions for London and domestic carriers.
