Stephen Smith has practiced Transportation and Insurance Law for more than 30 years. In addition to providing transportation and other clients with a vigorous and aggressive defense, he has assisted insurers with coverage analysis and defense litigation. A part of his practice involves assisting clients with navigating the claims process, which includes preparing or responding to reservations of rights letters, preservation letters, and demands for indemnity and defense. Stephen also has reviewed and advised on coverage issues in transportation and motor truck cargo, as well as general liability, D&O, construction and pollution, and property coverages. 

Stephen’s diverse clients include insurers as well as corporations and transportation carriers he assists in a wide variety of issues from simple property and casualty claims to more complex coverage and litigation matters. He has tried numerous cases in district court and other courts. Stephen also teaches courses for insurance professionals and has taught continuing legal education seminars for insurers and attorneys
