Stephen Fowler represents national and local businesses in complex civil litigation, with a focus on general liability, premises liability, and representing manufacturers in product liability cases.
Areas of Focus
Product Liability
Stephen has defended manufacturers of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, including drugs such as Taxotere and valsartan and products such as baby powder and pelvic mesh, in some of the largest multidistrict litigations in the country. He has also defended manufacturers of consumer products, including infant products, in catastrophic losses. Stephen works closely with scientific and medical experts, addressing general and specific causation issues, and damages experts on rare claims for hedonic (value-of-life) damages in infant death cases.
Toxic Tort
Stephen has defended manufacturers in “forever chemicals” (PFAS, PFOA) cases, handling general causation, toxicology, and epidemiology experts in class action and one-off individual cases.
