Tom Wilson leads Wilson Elser’s Program Management team, acting as coordinating claim and litigation management counsel to U.S., London and Bermuda-based carriers, in addition to his role as a co-chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity & Data Privacy Practice. Tom has extensive national experience handling claims, monitoring litigation and implementing and executing quality assurance processes on behalf of managing agents, underwriters and insurers in connection with a broad range of specialty and professional lines programs. Such programs include various MPL, LPL, A&E, miscellaneous medical, EPL, D&O, financial institutions, cyber and property coverage programs. With a deep understanding of all aspects of the insurance business, Tom also helps clients build and launch new programs and establish risk management and loss prevention procedures.

Prior to his legal career, Tom worked as an insurance broker. He was seconded as a young attorney to a London-based insurance syndicate and to the U.S. operations of a Japan-based insurance company. In both capacities, he focused on specialty lines program management, including claims handling, policy drafting, and underwriting and regulatory issues. He currently is on the board of directors of Target Markets Program Administrators Association, the mission of which is to assist program administrators and their carrier partners in conducting their business more efficiently and profitably.

In keeping with this mission, Tom and his team strive to expediently resolve claims for clients in a cost-effective manner that recognizes the balance between indemnity and expense by providing a speedy claims and litigation assessment and coverage determination, prompt and professional communication with insureds, and accurate reporting and reserve recommendations.
