Wendy Testa (Partner-Philadelphia) was one of five attorneys asked “What is one trend you’re watching closely in the construction industry?” for CLM Magazine’s September 2020 “Between the Lines” feature. “As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions,” she responded, “we expect to see dispute resolution through virtual mediation on the rise … and a significant increase in construction delay-and-fee claims” as projects are delayed, abandoned or shut down altogether. Besides the impacts of COVID-19, an interesting aspect noted by the attorneys was the use of innovative technologies to capture data that’s quickly put to use.
