Lynsie Rust focuses her litigation practice in general civil defense, with an emphasis on trucking and transportation defense, general tort defense, commercial disputes and trial advocacy.

Areas of Focus

Transportation, Cargo & Logistics
Lynsie has extensive experience defending motor carriers, their drivers and other transportation and logistics operations. This includes not only defending them in active litigation in all state and federal courts in Kentucky and Tennessee but also serving as one of the primary contacts in those states for Wilson Elser’s national 24-hour Emergency Response Team. She has been part of the Claims Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance’s faculty for its Claims College School of Transportation since 2020.

Tort Defense & Insurance Coverage
Lynsie also is seasoned in the areas of premises liability and product liability and in the defense of other complex personal injury claims, including wrongful death. In addition, she regularly represents insurers regarding coverage disputes and claims of bad faith.

Commercial Litigation
Lynsie’s commercial litigation experience includes advising corporations and individuals regarding pre-litigation business disputes in an effort to avoid the expense and risk of the court system. She also regularly litigates claims involving breach of contract, LLC and shareholder disputes, tortious interference with business relations and fraud claims. Lynsie has litigated a number of these complex commercial matters to trial, including one arbitration and one bench trial that both resulted in lucrative awards to the corporate entities she represented.

General Litigation
While Lynsie’s civil litigation practice focuses on tort defense and commercial disputes, she is routinely brought in on other types of litigation when a trial is imminent. Lynsie’s vast trial experience includes jury trials involving catastrophic trucking accidents, First Amendment issues (defamation and false light), subrogation claims, premises liability, wrongful use of civil proceedings, claims under Kentucky’s Whistleblower Act and workers’ compensation retaliation.
