Christopher Martin is an experienced litigator who focuses his practice on professional liability defense of lawyers, insurance agents and design professionals, as well as complex tort and general liability cases, commercial transportation cases, insurance coverage matters, product liability cases, commercial disputes and construction site/labor law matters. Chris also defends employers against a wide variety of claims in complex matters, often spanning multiple forums in the investigatory and litigation stages.

Whether defending an employment matter in federal court or responding to allegations at the administrative level, Chris seeks to understand and appreciate the unique concerns of his clients and tailor each representation accordingly. His attention to detail for all matters begins at the e-discovery stage and includes ongoing preparation in the event the matter reaches the appellate stage.

Chris has significant experience handling cases from pre-litigation investigations to case inception through appeals in state and federal courts. He has appeared in supreme courts in 43 of the 62 counties throughout New York State, including those in the metropolitan New York City area, and in federal courts throughout upstate New York. Chris also frequently handles matters pending before various administrative agencies, including the Division of Human Rights. Chris’s clients include lawyers, law firms, insurance agents and agencies; corporations; property owners and managers; product manufacturers and distributors, including food and drug providers; insurance companies; contractors; and employers of all types.

Chris prides himself on being a formidable adversary and zealous advocate on behalf of clients, while maintaining amicable working relationships with opposing counsel. Similarly, Chris strongly believes that good client relationships revolve around frequent and frank communication throughout the litigation process.

Apropos of his workstyle and determination, in 2020 Chris became an official Adirondack Forty-Sixer, with membership limited to those certified as having climbed the 46 tallest peaks in New York's Adirondack Park. Further, in 2023, Chris became an official Adirondack Winter Forty-Sixer, a very exclusive group with membership limited to those certified as having climbed those 46 peaks between December 21 and March 21.
