In celebration of National Mentoring Month, Wilson Elser’s White Plains WAVE (Women Attorneys Valued & Empowered) team, Partners Jacqueline Hattar and Stephanie Reda and Of Counsel Eliza Scheibel and Nicole Holland, have joined forces with the Westchester Women’s Bar Association (WWBA) and Westchester Black Bar Association (WBBA) to present “The Value of Effective Mentorship and Sponsorship for Personal and Professional Development and to Foster Engagement,” to be held on January 22, 2026, at Wilson Elser’s White Plains office. Jackie will join panelists Hon. Kim Berg, U.S. Magistrate Judge, Southern District of New York and partner at Gould & Berg, LLP; Hon. Francesca E. Connolly, Associate Justice, New York State Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department; Hon. Keri A. Fiore, New York State Supreme Court Justice, Ninth Judicial District; Hon. Amy S. Puerto, New York State Supreme Court Justice, Ninth Judicial District; Stephanie Melowsky, Esq., First Vice President at Orange Bank & Trust, and Brittany McLaughlin, Labor Counsel at Teamsters Local 456. Eliza, Nicole, and Stephanie will serve as co-moderators. This program is part of the WWBA’s Continuing Lecture Series on Mentorship and Sponsorship. The panelists will discuss the benefits of effective mentorship and sponsorship and how these approaches provide mentees with tools and strategies to become future leaders. These efforts improve employee engagement and retention by fostering an inclusive, diverse, and collaborative work environment.
