Jaime Ritton started her career representing well-known financial institutions, bringing lawsuits asserting her clients’ rights to monies owed pursuant to contracts and credit transactions. She also defended her financial clients’ creditor rights to collect monies owed pursuant to judgments entered.

Jamie currently defends insurers in bad faith and coverage actions. Her experience encompasses both first- and third-party issues based on personal and commercial lines of insurance. She has won several key dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment in Washington and California and Anti-SLAPP actions in California.

In addition to litigation, Jaime works on coverage matters, advising insurers on third-party lawsuits and responding to policy limits demands. She has also assisted in lawsuits seeking recovery from other insurers after her insurer client paid to protect the insured from further exposure due to a third-party claim in litigation. Jaime also files declaratory relief actions to assert varied insurance coverage positions to protect carriers from exposure to allegations of bad faith.

Jaime has worked on several cases concerning attorney Rules of Professional Conduct. Specifically, those cases regarded an attorney’s conflict of interest when a law firm represents both the insured and insurer as well as Cumis counsel issues.

Jaime has also successfully worked on several appeals in Washington and California involving bad faith issues, conflicts of interest, and litigation procedural issues.
