Kathleen Wilkinson (Partner-Philadelphia, PA) has been appointed by incoming American Bar Association (ABA) President Mary Smith as a Special Advisor to the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession, and will attend the August 5, 2023, ABA Commission on Women in the Profession Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado. Kathleen brings a broad range of experience to this assignment. She has served as a member of Wilson Elser’s Women Attorneys Valued and Empowered (WAVE) Employee Resource Group and is a past co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Women in the Profession Committee and the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession. Kathleen’s professional standing and recognition in the Pennsylvania legal community cements her qualifications to serve in this advisory capacity. She was elected to serve as Chancellor of the Philadelphia Bar Association in 2013, only the sixth woman to lead the 13,000-member organization, a particularly remarkable milestone in a distinguished career. Kathleen also was elected to serve as the President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 2021-2022, only the sixth woman to lead the then 23,000-member association, again showing the respect Kathleen has received from the bar. The mission of the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession is to secure full and equal participation of women in the ABA, the profession and the justice system.
