Areas of Focus

Technology & Gig Economy
Loren has a keen understanding of the complex issues facing gig economy companies involved in catastrophic personal injury and property damage litigation, as well as the pre-suit evaluation, investigation, and early case assessment necessary to best mitigate risk and achieve the most expeditious and favorable outcomes. Utilizing Wilson Elser’s national footprint and employing legal project management principles, Loren has served as national coordinating counsel for several technology and gig companies, with his teams handling matters all over the country. His early work with technology companies operating in the transportation space has led to a deep understanding of their business models and needs, as well as the unique issues they face, all of which enable him and his teams to better address and resolve the complex issues involved in their cases.

Complex Tort & General Casualty
Loren is a former co-chair of Wilson Elser’s Sports, Entertainment and Amusements team, a subgroup of the firm’s Complex Tort & General Casualty Practice. He has represented a national insurer of sports- and entertainment-related risks and has supervised litigation and served as lead defense counsel on matters involving various insureds, including karate clubs, mixed martial arts studios, dance studios, youth football leagues, youth basketball leagues, roller rinks, skate parks, amusement attractions, and event promoters. In addition, Loren has presented seminars and continuing legal education (CLE)-qualified programs for a national insurer of sports and entertainment risks regarding the duties owed under Illinois law to participants and spectators at sporting events and issues concerning social media use in litigation.
